Advanced training in the following techniques

Swedish Massage

Standard massage techniques using long strokes and circular movements to warm up muscle tissue, releasing tension and gradually breaking up muscle "knots" or constricted tissues, called adhesions, while promoting relaxation, among other health benefits.

Deep Tissue Massage

Deep tissue massage focuses on realigning deeper layers of muscles and connective tissue. It is especially helpful for chronic aches and pains and contracted areas such as stiff neck, shoulders, upper and lower back and leg muscle tightness.

Trigger Point Release

Trigger point therapy alleviates the source of pain via cycles of isolated pressure and release. In this type of massage, the recipient actively participates through deep breathing as well as identifying the exact location and intensity of the discomfort.

Myofascial Release

A safe and effective hands-on technique involving gentle sustained pressure into the Myofascial connective tissue restrictions to eliminate pain and restore motion. This essential “time element” has to do with the viscous flow and the piezoelectric phenomenon: a low load (gentle pressure) applied slowly will allow a viscoelastic medium (fascia) to elongate.

Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation

This is a set of stretching techniques commonly used in clinical environments to enhance both active and passive range of motion in order to improve motor performance and aid rehabilitation.

Passive and Assistive Stretching

This is normally achieved through the force of gravity on the limb or on the body weighing down on it but can also be achieved with the help of a therapist who can carefully assist adding subtle force on the limb, helping it drop lower into the stretch.

Manual Lymphatic Drainage

This is employed to encourage the natural drainage of lymph, which carries waste products away from the tissues back toward the heart and kidneys to be filtered and recirculated. MLD helps the body rid itself of impurities and boosts function of the immune system.

Positional Release Therapy

A form of manual medicine that resolves pain and tissue dysfunction. By placing the body in a specific position of comfort called "dynamic neutral, the neurological system is manipulated to interrupt the pain spasm cycle and within 90 seconds reset the resting length of tissue in a "normal" range. This promotes increase in strength, performance and function.

Hello There!

(A little bit about Su.)

A Wisconsin native, Su moved to Ohio in 1998. After 21 years in the medical field as an STNA, a well needed change of venue was in order. So she attended the Healing Arts Institute of Perrysburg in 2004-5, completing over 750 hours of education and clinical practice. Su passed the Ohio state medical board exam in the 99th percentile, and has been a self employed clinical massage therapist since January 2006. Helping people feel better naturally is her passion. No pill or shot can untie your knots like Su can, and she looks forward to the opportunity to help relieve your aches and pains, head-on!

Su Opansky, LMT
  • Su is truly a miracle worker. I've gone to quite a few LMTs and she is the only one that has enough care (and maybe even strength) to deliver the caliber of massage I require. The massage itself is educational, the amount of muscle tension released is phenomenal, and the weeks afterward are really when the investment shows its value. I would recommend her to anyone and everyone who not only needs a massage but is also interested in learning about why their body is ending up like this and how to fix it.

  • I was referred to Su by a trusted friend who loudly proclaimed her awesomeness and set very high expectations for my first visit. Su  gathers information about your expectations,  explains as she goes and is very in tune with what is too much or too little pressure. She will converse or allow you silence if that is your style. It is always a great experience and when I leave her office and  I ALWAYS wonder why I wait so long between visits. Su is a caring and great-hearted person and it shows from the minute you meet her.

  • Su has opened my eyes to a form of alternative healing that I never knew existed. In a world of prescriptions and fine print side-effects, thinking a little differently and being a little proactive may reduce or even replace trips to the doctor's office. I can't recommend Su enough!
